Surgery is done on a woman’s pelvis to improve chances of pregnancy and live birth. Surgery can result in adhesions forming and flushing out the fallopian tubes with fluid (hydrotubation) is sometimes done to remove any loose tissue that could adhere and cause a blockage. A laparoscopy (examining the abdominal organs through a surgical cut in the abdomen) is also used to improve reproduction. The review of trials found there is not enough evidence to support the routine practice of hydrotubation or second-look laparoscopy after pelvic reproductive surgery. More research is needed.
