My hubby also has a son from a previous relationship, but that doesn’t mean *you* have to take full responsibility for fertility on your shoulders. Just had to say that first! In any case, ensure that if your GP wants to do a lot of tests, including sperm sample, you should take him up on the idea!
So, make sure you take pen and paper to the doctor’s. They’ll tell you lots of long words and silly acronyms that you’ll want to write down so that you can Google them later
Take your charts and cycle info, for sure. That could save you a lot of unnecessary injections and poking and prodding. Also if you’re on any medications, take that info as well.
They’re likely to test for FSH levels and later in your cycle, probably progesterone levels too. That’s a simple blood test and they might find nothing wrong with you. I’m sure that your previous medical intervention you mentioned is NOT in any way responsible for not getting pregnant yet. There was a lady on this site a few hours ago who got a BFP this morning after 17 months of trying. Sometimes it just takes time
Good luck!!!!
Firstly hun when you book your appointment with your GP ask for a double appointment as a single appointment is very rushed if you have anything complicated to discuss. Take your partner if possible-your GP will not do a sperm sample there so don’t worry.Just explain your history as per your other question – he or she should then refer you to your local fertility clinic to discuss with the consultant in depth if there is anything wrong or not
