ok, so im having to switch from the combined pill to the progesterone only pill….but i didn’t take the first pill of the POP pill following the last day of the combined. So im starting the POP pill today (which would be a week after finishing the combined pill) what can i expect to happen? and for how long am i not protected contraceptively? (My partner and I do use barrier methods too, but will abstain until i know i am protected)
Also has anyone else been on this pill? Im very scared about starting it as ive heard bad reports about it (hence why i didn’t start it straight away, so i could talk to a doctor). If so…what side effects did you suffer? Im most concerned about depression, weight gain, headaches, and a lack of periods (concerned if this may affect future fertility) NB – I have endometriosis, will this affect it?
I went to the doctor today with my husband, we’ve ben trying for 1 year, 1 month and got the results of our tests, my husbands sperm count is 200 with 50% motility, which seems to be ok, and they’re not sure whether I am ovulating, I had progesterone level of 10, but they arranged the test a bit early in m ycycle, so I have to go for a later one. I already knew I had PCOS, so she has put in a referral for us to go the the specialist, on the NHS. I’m pleased as I asked specifically to see a different doctor, and she seemed on the ball and very helpful, the complete opposite to the other doctor we were seeing- who actually couldn’t say the word ‘sex’ in front of me!!!!!! , but I would really like a bit of a clue as to what the fertility doctor might do, ask, talk about etc. Please would love any advice, tips or whatever…
Thank you
well, I’ve got all my dates since we started trying, so I’ll remember to take them!
I want to know if anyone has ever taken herbs (and no prescription drugs) and was able to go on to conceive. If so, what kind of herbs did you try and for how long?
I have been reading about different herbs such as Maca that is supposed to regulate a woman’s hormones naturally. ***My background I am 28, i do not have kids, I have been diagnosed with PCOS, I produce more estrogen and not enough progesterone, and I have been trying to conceive for quite some time now without any luck. I plan to get insurance at my job in May during open enrollement so I can get fertility medicine but I am hoping that maybe if I try the herbal route that it may work and I can finally be a mommy.
Thank you in advance,
Melissa
