I’ve just found out that I would need fertility treatment (Clomid, IVF, possible egg donation). I’m 37 so time is not on my side. I have been with my boyfriend for a year and love him dearly. However, he has a son of 14 from a previous relationship who he sees occasionally and is not over keen on having more children. He wants us to take more time over our decision whether to pursue treatment but I am finding it hard to put this off any longer. I feel that I need to know sooner rather than later as I would dearly love to raise a family.
I have always wanted to raise children in a loving relationship, but I am now faced with the decision of whether to stay with him and risk his decision being no, or to leave him and go it alone as I have been advised by the docs that my chances of success will lessen over time. I am not willing to just look for a man to be a father as I am in love with my boyfriend and cannot contemplate being with anyone else at the moment.
Any thoughtful advice is greatly appreciated.

I have been ttc with pcos for over 19 months. I have been taking metformin, and now my dr is going to start me on clomid also. Do any of you know the success rate of clomid? Also how likely are you to have twins or higher?

Since going off birth control pills in Feb. 07, I have not been ovulating. Since October, I have taken 5 rounds of Clomid from 50mg to 200mg. Only 2 cycles were successful. My dr. just prescribed Letrozole / Femara instead of Clomid this month. I was just curious to hear other people’s experiences with this med. Did it make you ovulate? Did you get pregnant? Any side effects? Any info you could share would help! Thanks!

most doctors telling me to just keep trying it will happen like with my son, which was a totally mirical in my eyes, my blood is fine doesn’t thinken, what you are taken about is called huges syndrom which is sadly common in miscarriage and stillbirths…

Hi there, I’m 30 yrs old and ttc for 9 months. My doctor suspects a luteal phase defect and has given me femara to try to correct the problem. He has also run a sonogram to check my uterine lining which showed no problems, he also found a cyst on my left side which may or may not be functional. No more tests have been run at this time since it’s only been 9 months. Has anybody tried femara? If so, have you had any results? I have heard that femara has less side effects than clomid so I am feeling optimistic.
