My partner is 29 and we already know he has fertility issues, a really low chance, the docs have told him between and 0 and 4 % chance of conceiving. I am 22 so I know i still have time but because of knowing it could take forever would you start trying earlier, even if the time right now wasnt perfect, ie i have an exam next year for work?
i dont want to make TTC really intense and I want us to still have fun considering we know the chances are so low.
Please I need some advice

wait til you’re ready becuase you never know, you may conceive right away anyway! i’d say don’t start trying any earlier than you want to have a baby. start once you’re ready for a baby.

There’s absolutely no harm completing testing. It’s better to know what you are dealing with. And if you anticipate problems I would start earlier. These things take time for healthy couples, much less couples with fertility issues. We were going to wait, and my sister mentioned to me that we shouldn’t wait because what if it takes a bit longer – and she was right.

I’m trying to get preggy too.
These 6 months have been really trying – read so many things on TTC.
There are ways to improve potency by preparing yourselves with the multi-vites to ensure that your body is supplemented. That’s what I am trying to do. Some home remedies to start with.
Also, track your fertile dates etc – get a basal thermometer ready & calculate your ovulating dates. I have just bought myself a basal thermometer this evening!
Oh well, if natural pregnancy does not help – there are other methods like IUI and IVF (check out google search)
Good luck!

If your partner has already had investigations into his fertility, did they not give him any advice as to the way forward? I would expect with percentages that low the doctor would have suggested either ways to increase the chances (medication, depending on what exactly the issue is), or using Assited Reproductive Technology (e.g. IVF).
I would not rush into having a baby if you have doubts, just based on the fact his fertility is low. Male issues are often easy to resolve than female issues so you may have more options than you think.
Believe me, turning sex into purely a baby making activity can take all the fun out of it. We discovered we had male issues (low sperm count, anti-sperm anitbodies) after a year of trying, and went down the IVF route, and I’m now 6 months pregnant!
Base your decision on whether you feel ready to have a baby (although I’m not sure we ever feel truly ready!!), and find out all you can about your options.
Good luck!!
