no i would’nt say so, i have had several differant kinds of birth control including the coil, i fell pregnant right away when the coil was removed, its a very safe form to take but i havent heard of any side affects like infertility, i was very fertile so i dont see there being any reason as to why you can’t happily make your family grow, ill send you holistic healing energy also, god-bless

The coil should have no effects on your long term fertility. In fact I got pregnant while I had the coil. The main problem with this is it could make you miscarry ect. Babies have been know to be born holding the coil.

The Mirena coil has hormone in it, that is why sometimes you stop having periods on it. I imagine you will have to wait a while to get all of the hormone out of your system. I have a copper coil and it is much better no hormones at all.

i would go to the Family Planning clinic where you had it put in they should be able to give you more advice

Most dr/family planning dont recomend the coil if you have not had kids as yes it can in some cases cause problems.
You should take advice from your dr or family planning nurse

your fertility should be OK as the coil works to prevent conception, not by decreasing fertility. The only reason you may be less fertile is of course age – that decreases with age as we get older.
