Can taking the depo shot cause infertility?

I was wondering because I really want to get pregnant. I took three shots of depo and now I am not having periods. I have never been irregular since I started getting periods at age 8. Even when I took birth control pills I got my period back right away. It has been 7 almost 8 full months since I received my final shot. Can this medicine cause infertility and if so, is there some kind of lawsuit pending against depo right now? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

It might take you awhile to get pregnant and for your body to adjust back to normal. I doubt you’ll get a lawsuit out of it, if you do more than likely you’ll get no money out of it.

I was on Depo for two years, it took a little over a year for my periods to regulate again… I just had a baby, so it obviously didn’t cause infertility for me.

I was on it from age 14 to 16, I am 23 now.

I was on the depo shot for 3 months aswell… my period returned a month or so after my last shot.. but did not fall pregnant until 8 months after my last shot. I have searched up ALOT about it because i never got told the facts! It can take up to 3 months to two years for your periods to go back to normal and to fall pregnant… ive read that it took some people longer!! I even read that its used on perverts in jail to keep them sterile!? Not sure if that is true. But makes me angry, if i had known how long it was going to take to have a child or to get regular periods i would NEVER have gone on it!
